2021 Presenter Information
Research Reports and Brief Research Reports
- Research Sessions and Brief Reports Schedule: These sessions are 40 minutes long. Research Reports will take the entire time slot, while Brief Research Reports will be paired with a second Brief Report (each allotted 20 minutes). If you are presenting a Research Report, please plan on a 25-30 minute presentation to provide 10-15 minutes for questions. If you are presenting a Brief Research Report, please plan to speak for no more than 12-15 minutes to provide 5-8 minutes for questions.
- RR & BRR Hybrid Considerations: All the sessions (both in-person and virtual) have a meeting room reserved, which will be set up with videoconferencing equipment (a Meeting Owl) for in-person attendees and presenters. The sessions will be facilitated through our online conference app/hub, and will each load into their own Zoom session. The in-person attendees and presenters will join the Zoom session via the Meeting Owl, while virtual attendees and presenters will join individually from the conference hub. We are hoping that this will be relatively smooth, although it’s definitely the first time we’ve tried something like this!
- In-Person Presenters: Please plan to arrive a bit earlier than usual for any session that you are presenting, just in case we need to troubleshoot technology.
- Virtual Presenters: We will be reaching out to our virtual presenters in a future email (around October 1) with information on accessing the conference hub and logging into your scheduled session.
- Hybrid Presenters: If you have both in-person and virtual speakers who would like to speak at the same session, you can split your presentation between in-person and virtual speakers (though you may want to minimize transitions between in-person and virtual speakers to make this easier). Ideally, an in-person presenter should plan to bring and facilitate the slides you use for your talk.
Poster Presentations
- In-Person Posters: There will be two live Posters Sessions during the conference (Friday and Saturday, 1 hour each), with about 35 posters each to allow for social distancing. The maximum size for posters is 36 by 48 inches (3ft by 4ft). Remember that you can use the code PMENASHIP at spoonflower.com for free standard shipping and a 10% discount on fabric posters if you order by September 30.
- In-Person Posters – Hybrid Considerations: In addition to presenting your physical poster during one of the two live poster sessions, you will also be asked to post a pdf of your poster to the conference hub for our virtual attendees to view. You can also (optionally) make a 5-minute video to upload to the conference hub, and will be able to answer questions from virtual attendees using a Q&A feature embedded in the website. (Note: virtual posters will be presented entirely asynchronously.) Specific instructions about how to access the site and upload your materials will come in a future email (approximately October 1).
- Virtual Posters: Authors of virtual posters should plan to post a pdf of your poster to the conference hub for our in-person and virtual attendees to view. Authors can also (optionally) make a 5-minute video to upload to the conference hub, and will be able to answer questions from virtual attendees using a Q&A feature embedded in the website. (Note: virtual posters will be presented entirely asynchronously.) Specific instructions about how to access the site and upload your materials will come in a future email (approximately October 1).
